Throwback Thursday: Favorite Kid Halloween Costumes

Our Kids’ Favorite Halloween Costumes: From Game of Thrones to Moana
Halloween is always a big event in our house, and over the years, we’ve gone through a lot of different costume ideas. From the worlds of Westeros to tropical islands, our kids have rocked some amazing looks. If you’re looking for inspiration this Halloween, here are their top six favorite costumes—complete with links to help you find them for your little trick-or-treaters!

1. Soccer Player

Ike’s first year Trick-or-Treating, we dressed him up as a Brazilian National Team Soccer Player. Dressed in the iconic yellow and green jersey, this outfit was both simple and comfortable—perfect for a kid on the move. We had to stop and explain the concept of trick-or-treat though, on the first few houses Ike happily rang the doorbell and when the homeowner opened the door to give him candy, he invited himself right on inside their house. Eventually he got the hang of it, but it was pretty clear that he preferred checking out everyone’s home more than the candy they were handing out. 👉 Shop Brazil Soccer Player Top on Amazon 👉 Shop Headbands on Amazon 👉 Shop Toddler Soccer Balls on Amazon

2. Jon Snow from Game of Thrones

When Ike as a toddler, he had long, dark, luscious curls and the TV show Game of Thrones was at its height of popularity, so Ike’s costume basically chose itself.  As Jon Snow—the brooding hero from Game of Thrones, with his signature black cape, fur detailing, and sword at his side, this costume definitely made him feel like the King in the North. The quality of the outfit made it an instant hit, not just for Halloween but also for dress-up time. The best part about this costume was that most of it was easily DIY. The sword holder is one of dad’s belts.  The cape and fabric were made from remnants found on the Joann’s Fabrics end caps.  Under the cape he wore a black shirt and pants to complete this dark and handsome look. 👉 Shop white wolf toy on Amazon

This one might be my favorite Halloween, we went all out with Maui and Moana costumes. The kids loved embodying the adventurous spirit of Moana and the larger-than-life hero Maui. From Maui’s tattoos to Moana’s Polynesian prints, these outfits were bright, fun, and full of personality. 4. Star Wars Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker

When it comes to sibling costumes, Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker from Star Wars was a favorite. This iconic duo let the kids channel the force in style. With Leia’s signature white gown and Luke’s desert tunic, the costumes were instantly recognizable. On top of that, Eleanor’s long curls were just perfect to tie into those iconic space buns. The best part? It’s always a hit with both Star Wars fans and parents alike. 👉 Shop Princess Leia Costume on Amazon 👉 Shop Luke Skywalker Costume on Amazon
