Gabby’s High School Graduation: A Journey of Strength, Achievement, and Growth
Graduation Day May 22nd, 2014
A High School Graduate in Our Midst!
About ten years ago, we celebrated a major milestone—Gabby officially closed the chapter on her high school journey. With honors, grace, and confidence, she walked across that stage, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of a new adventure. Gabby not only made it, but she truly thrived.
Her senior year was a whirlwind of change. She moved to Georgia, leaving behind her mother, family, friends, and the high school she had attended for three years. Starting over in your final year of high school is no easy feat, but Gabby faced it head-on. She joined clubs, played a sport, earned straight A’s, and formed friendships that have lasted to this day.
That year, Gabby also checked off some other big milestones. She learned to drive, became eligible to vote, and got accepted into college. The little girl I met years earlier had blossomed into an intelligent young woman full of potential, and I couldn’t have been prouder to know her and witness her journey.
As we looked ahead to college, we were all filled with excitement (and maybe a little bit of nerves). I was so grateful to be a part of her growth and couldn’t wait to see where life would take her next. But first, we celebrated her graduation with two solid weeks of parties and festivities!
Looking back this graduation party may have sparked my passion for party planning and opened the door to a dozen or more memorable birthday parties for Ike and Eleanor.
Around the same time, my little Ike—who was just six months old then—learned how to stand in his playpen. Can you believe it? My baby boy was growing up just as fast as his sister! Happy half-birthday, Ike. Watching you grow has been such a joy, even if it feels like it’s happening in the blink of an eye.
